The just concluded CRY America’s 2026 Gala Series has brought together communities across five major U.S. cities, featuring award-winning actor Vikrant Massey, whose presence and heartfelt advocacy for children’s rights inspired attendees and elevated the evenings

The CRY America 2026 Gala Series, themed “Pathways to Possibilities,” represented a significant philanthropic milestone in the ongoing effort to support underprivileged children in India.

The galas were hosted in New York, Houston, Seattle, the San Francisco Bay Area, and San Diego, drawing members of the Indian diaspora who came together in strong support of CRY America’s mission. Guests contributed generously toward initiatives focused on ensuring underprivileged children have access to education, healthcare, and protection from child labor and child marriage.

Spanning from late April to early May, this high-profile series of events served as a bridge between the Indian diaspora in the United States and the grassroots movements working to ensure education, healthcare, and protection for vulnerable youth.

By combining cultural celebration with strategic fundraising, the 2026 series aims to dismantle the systemic barriers of poverty, child labour, and early marriage.

A defining feature of the 2026 tour was the participation of acclaimed actor Vikrant Massey as the guest of honour.

Known for his powerful portrayal of resilience in the film 12th Fail, Massey’s involvement underscored the transformative power of education and the importance of providing every child with the opportunity to succeed. His presence across the five host cities — New York/New Jersey, Houston, Seattle, the Bay Area, and San Diego — catalyzed significant community engagement, drawing together philanthropists, business leaders, and advocates committed to social change.

The structure of the gala evenings was designed to inspire both empathy and action. Attendees are presented with the tangible impact of CRY America’s work through testimonials from project partners and social pioneers like KV Ramana. These narratives are complemented by fundraising activities such as auctions featuring curated collections of paintings, traditional handlooms, and fine jewelry. These contributions, supported by major brand partners like Laxmi (House of Spices), are directed toward community-led projects that empower local leaders to solve issues within their own villages and slums.

Ultimately, the 2026 Gala Series is more than a sequence of formal dinners; it is a mobilization of resources and human spirit. By fostering a sense of collective responsibility, the series ensures that the “Pathways to Possibilities” remain open for thousands of children. Through the sustained support of the donor community, CRY America continues to prove that targeted intervention and education can break the cycle of poverty, creating a brighter and more equitable future for the next generation.

Donations from the Gala support over 70 projects across India and the USA, impacting over 860,000 children.

Key projects featured in the 2026 series include:

1. Project Pragathi (Andhra Pradesh): Led by social worker KV Ramana, this project empowers tribal and Dalit communities to combat child labor and child marriage.

2. Project RWDS (Tamil Nadu): Focuses on rural women’s and children’s development with a primary goal of improving school enrolment.

3. Project GSS (Gujarat): Dedicated to community-based health and education initiatives in marginalized sectors.

4. Project SJJKS (Rajasthan): Works to protect children from traditional harmful practices and ensure they remain in the formal education system.

5. Project PORD (Andhra Pradesh): Concentrates on child rights advocacy and providing healthcare access to remote villages.

It may be noted that CRY, Child Rights and You America Inc (CRY America) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit driven by its vision of a just world in which all children have equal opportunities to develop to their full potential and realize their dreams. With the support of over 35,000 donors and 2,000 volunteers, CRY America has impacted the lives of 825,000 children living across 5,000 villages and slums through support to 111 Projects in India and the USA.
